CAMPING TIPS


Stay overnight for free at one of the thousands of roadside rest area, expressway station or public car park. Stay clean and warm by bathing at an onsen bath house that are never far away.

ROADSIDE STATION REST AREA (MICHI NO EKI)


There are over 1,030 roadside stations in Japan along major roads. You can park for free overnight, there are toilets and some have showers. Food and shopping is usually available during the day.

PARKING
Public car park
Many free public car parks by the beach, country roadside and ski resorts are available. There are also paid parking lots. Just look for the “P” sign and automatic parking lots such as Times 24H.

Warning:
There are no free or on street parking in city areas. Do not park the vehicle on private property without permission. The police can issue you with a fine up to 35,000 JPY for illegally parked vehicles. Our campers do NOT fit in underground car parks, please do not attempt it.
HOT SPRING (ONSEN)
There are thousands of hot spring bath houses around Japan. They are a popular way to bathe and soak away the stress of the day. Soaps and shampoo are often provided and clean towels can be borrowed for extra fee. So don’t be shy and do it the Japanese way!

Warning: Some onsen do not serve customers with tattoos, make sure to check first.
RV PARK (parking area for campervans)
Kuruma travel facilities are parking lots where you can stay overnight in a car.
Camping is not allowed.Please use it with good manners.
